Cool Tools – TiddlyWiki

May 24, 2010

If you have heard of wiki’s, but want to try one out with a minimum of effort, TiddlyWiki is a good place to start.

TiddlyWiki is not a real wiki, it’s a webpage that acts like a wiki.

You can download it to your desktop and play with it, try entering and linking between documents, and try out your CamelCase and tagging.

I used TiddlyWiki to take notes while I was in graduate school, and I tagged each day with the class and 2-3 topics from that lecture. When I wanted to study on a topic, I could pull up all of my notes on that subject with just one click.

TiddlyWiki is a personal favorite of mine. It is very very good for teaching the basics of wikis.
